Your data works for you. Nobody else.

What Scout collects

• Account details. Your email address and sign-in information.
• Your professional record. The résumé you import, the work history and accomplishments you add, and the writing Scout drafts with you.
• Your preferences. Target roles, salary floor, work arrangement, location tiers, scoring weights, and the filters and blocked sites you set.
• Product activity. The jobs you pursue, dismiss, and annotate, and the follow-ups and timeline entries Scout keeps for you.
• Operational basics. Logs and error reports that keep the service running.

What Scout does with it

One thing: it runs your job search. Your preferences steer which postings are matched and how they are scored. Your professional record is what tailored résumés, cover letters, and application answers are drafted from. Your activity keeps the boards and follow-ups accurate.

Scout sends your relevant data to the services that operate it, and only so it can operate: cloud hosting for the application and database, and AI model providers that perform scoring and drafting on Scout's instructions. These providers process your data to do that work; they are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

What Scout does not do

• We do not sell, rent, or resell your data to anyone, for anything.
• We do not share your résumé or search with employers or recruiters. Only the applications you choose to send leave the product.
• We do not run advertising, and we do not give advertisers or data brokers access to anything.
• We do not use your data to train AI models.

Where job data comes from

The postings on your boards are collected from public job boards, applicant tracking systems, and company career pages. That data is about employers and roles, not about you, and it is pooled: a posting exists once, while everything about your relationship to it (your score, your notes, your documents) stays private to your account.

Retention and deletion

Scout keeps your data while your account is active, because the history is part of the product: scores, timelines, and documents build on what came before. Delete your account and Scout deletes your profile, your documents, your preferences, and your activity. You can request an export or deletion at any time by writing to privacy@scoutfindsjobs.com.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to what operating the service requires, and production access is limited to the people who run Scout.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date above changes with it and active accounts are told directly. The promise not to sell your data is not the kind of thing that changes.
